Wedding Party responsibilities and duties. Bride and groom, you’ve made it to the big day! Congrats. But before you can walk down the aisle, there are a few (more) pieces of paperwork to sign, people to feed, and duties to delegate. Here’s a breakdown of essential wedding party responsibilities and duties, so you can make sure everything goes off without a hitch on your big day.
The Mother of the Bride and Father of the Bride for Wedding Party responsibilities and duties is responsible for helping the Bride with her dress and veil, as well as providing emotional support on the big day. The Mother of the Groom and Father of the Groom helps with boutonnieres and Make sure the Groom is ready on time.
The Maid of Honor: Wedding Party responsibilities and duties. The Bride’s BFF, chief confidante, and all-around helper. The Maid of Honor is responsible for assisting the bride with wedding planning, helping her stay calm on the big day, holding her bouquet during the ceremony, and giving a toast at the reception. Oh, and she’s also responsible for rounding up the bridesmaids (more on that later).
The Best Man: Wedding Party responsibilities and duties. The Groom’s right-hand man, chief supporter, and all-around helper. The Best Man is responsible for holding the rings during the ceremony, giving a toast at the reception, and helping the Groom with any last-minute wedding details or jitters. He’s also typically in charge of organizing the Groom’s entourage (more on that later).
The Bridesmaids: The Bride’s squad. These ladies are typically close friends or family members who support the Bride throughout the wedding planning and on the big day. They may be asked to help with wedding planning tasks, contribute to wedding costs, attend pre-wedding events like showers and rehearsal dinners, hold the Bride’s bouquet during the ceremony, and give a toast at the reception. But most importantly, they’re there to make sure the Bride has an amazing time!
The Groomsmen: The Groom’s squad. These guys are typically close friends or family members who support the Groom throughout the wedding planning and on the big day. They may be asked to help with wedding planning tasks, contribute to wedding costs, attend pre-wedding events like showers and bachelor parties, hold the rings during the ceremony, and give a toast at the reception. But most importantly, they’re there to make sure the Groom has an amazing time!
Other important people to consider are Flower girls & ring bearers (typically younger family members or friends), officiant (the person who will officiate your ceremony), witnesses (two people who will sign your marriage license after your ceremony), musicians & entertainment (for making your reception extra special), photographer & videographer (to capture all those memories!).
As you can see there are A LOT of people involved in making your big day happen! But don’t worry – delegating responsibility is key to ensuring everything runs smoothly on your wedding day. Sit down with your fiancé(e) and Wedding Party ahead of time to discuss expectations and assign tasks. That way everyone knows what they’re responsible for and there won’t be any surprises coming on your big day. This means being present for all the key events, from the rehearsal dinner to the post-wedding brunch. They also need to be available to lend a helping hand wherever needed, whether it’s carrying flowers or running errands. Additionally, the wedding party is responsible for making sure that everything goes according to plan on the big day. This includes keeping an eye on the clock and making sure that the bride and groom are where they’re supposed to be when they’re supposed to be there. Of course, one of the most important duties of the wedding party is to have a good time! After all, this is a once-in-a-lifetime event that should be celebrated with joy and laughter.
